Someone is happy I’m home…
I was so happy to see that face last night! Gunner’s whole body was wiggling when I walked in the door. Haha. Love him.
During my visit to Michigan, I did not hold back when it came to food. Every night my aunt put together a delicious spread followed by dessert. I was not missing out on any of that. It’s amazing how much more tired I felt due to eating heavy foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I could not stop yawning all day. Although there were vegetables in most meals, they were usually coated in butter or heavy cream. While indulging from time to time is healthy from my point of view, you have to get yourself back on track when the fun is over. Here are a few things I plan on doing this week:
1. Get in as many fruits and vegetables throughout the day.
2. Stay thoroughly hydrated.
3. Minimize any added sugars.
4. Get in a good daily sweat.
5. Stay away from the vino.
5. Get a good night rest.
These are all wonderful goals to live by and achieve a healthy lifestyle, but after a vacation they are super important!
This morning I hit up the gym and ran 2 miles on the treadmill before completing a biceps and triceps workout. I finished with a quick 3 minute abs workout. Oh, how I’ve missed the gym!
I have an exam on Friday and a few group projects to wrap up as the semester is coming to an end.
Question: What are your healthy tips for post-vacation?
Have a great day!

I definitely am trying to steer clear of the wine this week too. It’s not uncommon for me to have a glass with dinner every night but I had lots this weekend so I need to drink water instead this week!
Ditto!!
LOTS of water and green tea, sweaty workouts and meals full of veggies. After a week I always feel so much better
I love green tea, Becky!
Hi Kerry! Just stumbled on your blog. Post-vacay, I love to get some extra rest by going to bed about 30 minutes earlier. Water is a MUST, as well.
Thanks for stopping by, Haley! I agree – sleep and water intake are so important!
Just getting back into a regular schedule and routine always makes me feel better. When I feel like I’m eating healthy again and working out regularly, I feel cleansed! Also, I totally agree with everyone else about the water. That may be most important!
I agree! Sleeping in my own bed makes me happy, too!
I love that you missed your dog, loved visiting more of your family and their pets:)
